Research Activities
Cell culture-based bioprocesses have become the main industrial production platform for a novel range of biopharmaceutical products that are being used in the treatment of various human diseases. Since 1996, monoclonal antibodies have dominated this group with several blockbuster products such as Rituxan, Remicade and Herceptin. The goal of my thesis is the optimization of the production of mAbs against interleukin (IL)-8 by Chinese hamester ovary (CHO) cell culture and their purification using affinity chromatography.
