Research Activities
The goal of my Ph. D. project is to investigate in detail the impact on the transient protein expression of different plasmid purification methodologies and small structural modifications on the plasmid backbone in cultured mammalian cells. The efficiency of the process will be assessed by measuring transfection percentage and the time course of GFP expression, intracellular plasmid and messenger RNA. A detailed characterization of the plasmid impurities will be made and correlated with transfection efficiency.
