Research Activities
The main focus of my research work is to develop a microscale platform, which will enable the study of the effect of soluble and immobilized molecules (chemical and biological) during in vitro expansion and neural differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSC). The high-throughput study of the effects of these molecules will hopefully contribute towards a better understanding on the molecular interactions and mechanisms that govern hPSC fate and, eventually, to the development of effective cellular therapies. This project results from a previously established partnership between SCBL and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (USA), where the research work will be carried out.
